The City of Aspen is looking to plug in an effort to decrease its carbon footprint.
Last year nineteen percent of Aspen’s greenhouse gas emissions came from vehicles and buses moving, sometimes crawling, through town. "I think the circulator buses provide a great opportunity and non-pursuit police vehicles. They travel a lot of high miles - we have the opportunity to reduce operating costs and save money."
The possible switch to electric cars would help the city reach its goal to reduce emissions by 30 percent by 2020.
