On Tuesday, Eagle County’s commissioners will discuss how best to educate voters on broadband.
Eagle County hasn’t opted out of Senate Bill 152 yet. This means, basically, the county can’t improve local broadband service. The question of whether or not to opt out of SB-152 will head to voters in the fall.
Eagle County Commissioner Jill Ryan said she and her fellow commissioners are looking for the right way to educate voters about the benefits of opting out of the bill. The question would have appeared on the 2016 ballot, she said, but it was already too full.
In 2016, many local jurisdictions opted out, including Garfield County, Aspen, Basalt and others.
