In an unprecedented year of divisiveness and rancor across the nation and in our community, Aspen Public Radio was proud to host a series of debates on local issues with the candidates and representatives from important local races. APR is the place on your dial and on your device to find intelligent and reasoned discussion.

Elections department has moved

Pitkin County’s elections department has had a change of address. Aspen Public Radio’s Carolyn Sackariason reports.

The new reception area and ballot processing center is on East Hyman Avenue, in the Ute City Banque building. The space, located in the southeast corner of the building, used to be a lingerie shop.

County clerk and recorder Janice Vos Caudill joked with elected officials when she gave  an update this week.

“Elections are sexy," she says.

The county clerk and recorder’s office is renting that space and another on the second floor for the next two years while its permanent home on Main Street is remodeled.

Web Only, for time? The public is invited to an open house on March 3 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. to see the new location  and try out new voting equipment. Carolyn Sackariason, Aspen Public Radio news.
