Goode to replace Jacobson on town council

Almost 700 people voted in the Town’s first recall election.

Over 90 percent voted to oust the embattled councilman. Only fifty seven voted for him to retain his seat on the Snowmass Village Town Council.

Jacobson was arrested this past summer for allegedly driving drunk and causing an estimated $14,000 in damage in the county jail. A citizen petition led to a recall election.

With three hundred and forty one votes, Tom Goode defeated his two opponents to replace Jacobson, and will be sworn in at the next council meeting.

Goode was celebrating with supporters Tuesday night at taster's pizza. He says he has a lot of respect for Jaime Knowlton, who came in second. Goode see’s himself as “one of the people” and believes that is what set him apart.

Goode serves on the Planning Commission, which is reviewing the development of Base Village, and says he is looking forward to moving beyond the stalled project.

Chris Jacobson’s next court appearance is October 26th.
