Mountainfilm in Aspen starts Wednesday at The Wheeler Opera House. This year’s festival will be the biggest yet.

Over the course of five days, the Wheeler Opera House and Mountainfilm will present about 20 feature and short films.

"We really focus on stories that help to shape activism or reaction or just tell a really amazing story of what we call the indomitable spirit,” said Gena Buhler, executive director of The Wheeler Opera House. She said the selected films are all character based.

This year’s festival will include a new shorts program called “The New Normal,” which tackles climate change. This program will be paired with lunch sessions throughout the week.
