In 2013, the head of the Pitkin County Library said she’d pursue a smaller, less expensive library renovation after voters rejected a property tax. It would have funded a &10 million renovation and expansion. The construction project underway now is $14 million, but taxpayers are funding just a small chunk. The library hired a fundraising consultant who helped raised millions. Aspen Public Radio’s Marci Krivonen spoke with head librarian Kathy Chandler.
