Trump making his way to Aspen

The Pitkin County Republicans announced yesterday that presidential candidate Donald Trump will be in Aspen Aug. 25. The event will be a fundraiser held at a private home. Tickets range from $2,700 for individual attendance to $25,000 for a couple, which would get them a VIP meeting and photo with him.

This weekend, two other benefits will be held in Aspen. The Pitkin County Democrats will host state Rep. Millie Hamner at a private home, and the PitCo Republicans are hosting a high-priced dinner at the Hotel Jerome. The keynote speaker is U.S. Senate candidate Darryl Glenn.

Glenn was introduced to a national audience as a primetime speaker during the Republican National Convention, where he said that Hillary Clinton should swap out her pantsuits for an orange jumpsuit. Republican incumbent Rep. Scott Tipton and former presidential candidate Carly Fiorina will also be present.

Both Glenn and Hamner plan to greet residents at the Aspen Saturday Market tomorrow.
