Valley Roundup - July 10th, 2015

Welcome to Valley Roundup, a review of the top news stories in the valley in the past week.

A Snowmass Village town councilman is facing a felony charge for tearing apart the Pitkin County Jail after he was arrested for driving drunk.

It appears that the citizens of Aspen have had enough development, or at least the kind that asks for special exceptions. The fate of the approved Base 2 lodge could end up in the hands of voters.

A proposed Four Seasons hotel in Aspen's West End neighbor is another sign of change. We'll see how it's received by elected officials and the community.

And maybe all this development and tourism success are reasons why the city of Aspen is losing ground on reducing greenhouse gases.

Too many people and too much trash left by floaters in the Roaring Fork River inside of the Northstar Nature Preserve is causing angst among open space officials.

Guests:

Lorenzo Semple, a columnist for the Aspen Daily News, Jill Beathard, editor of the Snowmass Sun and Curtis Wackerle, editor of the Aspen Daily News.
