Week in the Arts - January 4th

  Bradman’s One Man Band plays at Turks in Snowmass on Tuesday.

 

On Thursday,  a two day event kicks off at the R2 Gallery in Carbondale. Lego Day starts at 2 p.m.. On Day one, build legos and have them displayed in the gallery the next day. Bricks will be provided, but you can also bring your own.

 

The One Man Star Wars Trilogy comes to the revamped Wheeler Opera House on Friday. Charles Ross performs all of the characters. All of the creatures. All of the spaceships.

 

Friday at the Art Base, which was formerly known at the Wyly Art Center, Craig O’Brien opens his show at the annex. Jill Sabella opens her show at the Art Base main campus in Basalt.

Nappy Roots and Blackalicious play in Aspen at the Belly Up on Friday. The show is a collaboration between the two rap groups who have been performing for more than a decade.

 

The 66th annual winter sports film from Warren Miller Entertainment premieres at the Wheeler on Saturday.

 

Also on Saturday, The Crystal Method plays the Belly Up. The group has been called one of the best live dance acts in the world. They have been known to work with artists outside of the electronic world, like Matisyahu and Scott Weiland.
