Week in the Arts: Sept. 11, 2017

Tuesday at 7 p.m., act 1 of The Mad Show runs at The Wheeler Opera House.

 

Tuesday writer Andrea Thome will sign copies of her second book in her Hesse Creek romance series, Seeds of Intention, set partially in Aspen at 5:30 p.m. at Explore Booksellers.

 

Wednesday Marble Distilling Co. presents “vodka and Van Gogh" with the Carbondale Creative District starting at 7 p.m.

 

Also Wednesday, Act II of the Mad Show starts at 7 p.m. at The Wheeler Opera House.

 

Thursday in Carbondale, the No Man’s Land Flagship adventure film festival at the Crystal Theatre in Carbondale starts. It continues throughout town over the weekend. The third annual Flagship Festival is an all-female adventure film festival based out of the Rocky Mountains running through Sunday.

 

Also Thursday at The Wheeler Opera House, "The Mad Show" presents a team discussion on the creation of the musical. This event starts at 5:30 p.m.

 

Then Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Theatre Aspen and The Wheeler Opera House present the full run of "The Mad Show" musical.

 

There’s a stand-up set with Jim Tews at the Glenwood Vaudeville Revue Friday starting at 7 p.m.

 

Also Friday at The Temporary, the Ben Miller Band makes a stop in Basalt. That event begins at 8 p.m.

 

Saturday the Snowmass Wine Festival kicks off at 1 p.m. up in Snowmass Village.

 

Saturday at 4 p.m. in Aspen, there will be a book signing with sci-fi author Jamie Metzel at Explore Booksellers.

 

Psychadellic funk band Chicano Batman plays Belly Up, Aspen Saturday at 9:30 p.m.
