World Cup-themed art on display at the airport.

Right when you step off the tarmac at Aspen Airport, and into the terminal. You’ll see a few things including ads and TSA warnings. But recently, art has been added to the walls.

All of the paintings are made by local artists and feature skiers and the flags of competing nations.

Pat Bingham is with Pitkin County. She says the airport is the perfect location for skiing art… because the paintings change the mood of the airport, and that they help build excitement for next year’s event.

“What better place to display this but the airport?" says Bingahm. "It’s the first place people see when they come here, it’s the last thing they see when they leave.

There currently isn’t an end date for the display. The world cup begins in March of 2017.
