The multimedia production “Oddville: A Love Story?” takes the stage in Basalt on Friday.  It combines theater with magic, mime, physical comedy and technology.

Chinese dissident and artist Ai Weiwei’s documentary "Human Flow" will be screened in Basalt on Sunday. After the movie, the filmmaker will take questions via webcast.

Soren West hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2016. Impressive, but not that unusual...except West did it at age 75.

Comedians Erin Dewey Lennox and Billy Wayne Davis are partners onstage and in real life. Davis has appeared on NBC’s Last Comic Standing. Lennox has written for ESPN and MTV.

Tonight at 5, Colorado Mountain College in Aspen presents a reception for the group exhibition “Open Book: The Book as Object and Image,” featuring work from over 30 artists.

 

Tuesday, there will be an author talk and book signing with 2017 U.S. Poet Laureate Tracy K. Smith at Paepcke Auditorium at 6. She is the second speaker in this season’s Aspen Words lineup.

There’s a new generation of rock musicians in the valley, thanks to Rock and Roll Academy Roaring Fork, an after school music program for kids. On Sunday, five middle and high school level bands will show off their skills at The Temporary.
